I've been working on a documentary for the last few weeks since I completed a documentary making course in Melbourne. I decided to make a Documentary on the "Made In Geelong" project, it's only short 10 minutes in fact, so I guess it's a mini documentary. I got great support for the idea from Danni & Kay from Made In Geelong / PR Weaving.
"Made In Geelong" places local Artists in empty shop buildings around the Geelong CBD, it's great for the artists as it's low rent and it's great for the landlord as it gets some exposure for their property. When the landlords finds a new tenant to lease, the Artists simply move on to the next location, it's such a brilliant idea really.
I interviewed 4 people for the doco and we got some interesting insights about Geelong and great stories about Artist inspirations, these made an excellent blend for the doco. I think we have highlighted the projects great work and showed off Geelong in the process. There are always people with good ideas working behind the scenes and a project like this lets them come to the fore.
